Welcome to WAB Bill,
I'm a bit further south than you - 5 minutes from RSPB Minsmere, but I regularly pop up to the Waveney Valley to monitor some very rare fungi which seem to like that area.
Are you an 'all rounder' or do you 'just do birds' ?

Was Tom Paine the chap that played Captain Mainwaring in Dad's Army ?
I went to Thetford last month and saw his (Capt Mainwaring) statue (or is it called a sculpture if he's still alive ?) next to the bridge and next to the more impressive monument of Mahar Ajah Duleep Sing sitting proudly on his horse.
Duleep Singh was the last ruler of the Sikh Kingdom of Punjab until the British invaded and stole the Koh I Noor diamond in 1849. Now dethroned, he came to the Elvedon Estate at Thetford to live, but before he died he wanted to return to his sovereign home in the Punjab but the nasty British Empire wouldn't let him.

Aha ! Of course, it was Authur Lowe who played Capt Mainwaring - so who was Tom Paine then ?
(To those that don't know, the Dad's Army series was filmed at Thetford on the surrounding heaths)
AND YES OUTNEY BILL, I had noticed that NORWICH CITY  scarf in your Avatar, but you're quite safe as I support them too 
I even went up to Norwich to see our (Suffolk's) very own Delia and join all of Norwich in their promotion celebrations outside the City Hall.  |

in the American Revolution, for the Americans .
