Steveo A warm welcome to you from a fellow Nikonian
If you need specific info on a particular nikkor lens there is valuable info from people who own them on this site.

Hey Steveo, welcome to WAB, this is a fantastic forum and very addictive, I was just going to use it to ask a few questions about things, and then that's it, but I want to join in everything now, it's great!

Ben.

Re: Hi from Plymouth

thanks for the warm welcome.

i bought a Panasonic FZ50 just before xmas, that was my first camera of any type (ex. throw aways). i've truely been bitten buy the bug as just 3 months later i've gone and bought a 'proper' DSLR.

i got in to it because i started a new job, which involved me driving up on to Dartmoor almost daily, i'd not been there since i was a kid and i'd forgotten how beautiful it is and how varied it can been. i bought the FZ50 to get a few landscape type shots off, but i've now got the D80 so i can vary the type of subject depending on the conditions and oppotunites.

i've uploaded a few here:

Re: Hi from Plymouth

Why is it you never realise exactly what is on your doorstep and how much you take it for granted until you move away

Spent many a happy days walking over the moors when i was growing up, But is only now i really appreciate how beautiful it is...

too true, the moors is only a 20 min drive away, and the coast and beaches 20 mins in the opposite direction, but until the last couple of month i'd not been to either for a good 10-15 years.
