Hello from Derby

Hello,
Just thought I should introduce myself,
I live in Derby UK and work out in the Derbyshire countryside so work in the heart of wild Derbyshire so to speak. I have always been interested in all aspects of wildlife which links in well with my job in horticulture.
My current interests revolve around a site in Derby where a proposed incinerator will be constructed if the public fail to stop it - you can read a bt about it in the campaigns section of the forum. We are doing very well so far I should add and as part of my role as advocate for a group at a planning inquiry into the proposal I have placed some focus on a colony of common lizards on the site in Derby. Having engaged with both the city council and the local wildlife trust I have been left shocked at the lack of protection some protected species have !
