| | | Re: Hellooooooooooo I have the kit lens, and a Sigma DG 70-300 zoom. The kit lens got quite good reviews, the Sigma is perhaps a little of a prance into something that I hoped I could do, but with hindsight I was looking to get one lens to do everything. I am getting there, but with very small improvements. Part of the problem is, when I go out the door I grab my Nikon coolpix 4500, I know I can get a photo with that. Any thoughts on a good macro lens?

Any thoughts on a good macro lens? | I've got that lens too, I'm not happy with it to be honest. I only picked it up as I didin't have telephoto lens at all - it was on offer! It's not an OS but if you have a sturdy tripod I dare say it produces the goods!
possibles for brill/all rounders :-
1. sigma 17-70 f/3.5-6.3 DC IF Macro OS HSM £366 (approx)
2. sigma 18-250 f/3.5-6.3 DC OS HSM £447 (approx)
3. sigma 18-125 f/3.5-5.6 DC OS HSM £275 (approx)
4. sigma 50-200 f/4-5.6 DC OS HSM £150-£200 (approx)
AS far as actual macros are concerned, I haven't used them as I dont yet do any real close up stuff

Gaz | It did seem very cheap, buy cheap, pay twice.

Any thoughts on a good macro lens? | I've just uploaded (literally just now, waiting approval) a shot I did with the Sigma 70-300 (quite a while ago). See what you think |

Lee | Nice to know!
By the way, Lee, I've already seen a host of your shots, they've quite moving!', nice shots! ........but then again......that's Wales for ya! (I've had a love affair with Wales the very first time I stepped acorss its borders. There's nowhere better for me! (Mmm?...Dorset runs a very close second!).
I really hope one day that I get chance to get down to South Wales!
