| | | Strange tracks on Beach I have found strange tracks on Newton beach, South Wales. At first glance look like bike tracks, about same size but not as deep. they stop suddenly with no human footprints nearby. Lots of lugworm /ragworm casts nearby. could they belong to a predator on lugworm? |

| | | Re: Strange tracks on Beach I assume this was in the damp sand, it could have been some sort of shell fish dragging its foot or would that have been too small?

| | Re: Strange tracks on Beach Thanks little sparrow. I don't think the tracks were made by shellfish as I am familiar with those and also they were too wide. They must have been made by something with a "spiny" underside to leave the "tyre print" with distinct separate marks.
My photos won't upload to the Gallery as they have too big a file size and I can't sort that! There was no sign of the tracks yesterday and have only noticed them for a few days recently. will check again today.

| | | Re: Strange tracks on Beach Go onto the forums, go to W A B site second top, and look at the sticky on up loading photos, there are various ways to do it but you have to reduce the photo size, i go to picture manager and compress then save, but that might not be the best way for you.

| | | Re: Strange tracks on Beach Update on beach tracks. I noticed this morning that our mystery creature has been wandering extensively in the very dry sand above the current high water mark, presumably under cover of darkness. It had "walked" quite a long way from the water and appeared to be investigating very close to and around several rocky outcrops as well as across open stretches of sand. My best guess so far is Sea Urchin, but would a sea urchin wander around on dry sand? I have tried to find photos of Sea Urchin tracks on the internet, so far with no luck. A pop group call Sea Urchin confuses the issue when searching" sea Urchin tracks"!!!!
I have managed to import the photo as an Avatar but still no luck with a larger one.

| | | Re: Strange tracks on Beach I think you might have to sleep on the beach to catch the creature, I can't think of a match for the tracks.
