Wiltshire Member here

Hi I am new here too. I am near Salisbury in Wilts. I would love to meet anyone in my area who is into gardening as I am trying to turn part of my 2 acres into a veggie garden.

I have not had the space before but thanks to my dear old grandad do have a bit of plant knowledge.

Welcome slowef - hope you find lots to interest you here. I'm not near you, but am keen on wildlife and vegetable gardening. You'll find lots of others too. Lucky you to have 2 acres - until we get our allotment we're on a bit of a smaller scale.

Hi Slowef,

A warm welcome to WAB, hope you get as much pleasure from your 2 acres as I did from my plot - I can still remember the first time I picked my own veg and cooked it within hours, nothing has ever tasted better, nor ever will.

Carol.

Re: Wiltshire Member here

Hello there Slowef
You've definately come to the right place for advice and tips, the only thing you won't be able to get is a spare dollop of elbow grease (unless anyone else knows different of course!) which would come in very handy for a 2 acre plot!!
Good luck with your veggies!

Re: Wiltshire Member here

Thanks for the warm welcomes.

Yes a daunting prospect but we are doing it in small "bites" the only way prob to manage it. I want to be as organic as possible and not use any poisons or nasty stuff. Companion planting is a thing I wish to try and have started some marigolds to go alongside my veg as I understand they help with some bugs.

I agree picking your own stuff, there is nothing like it. I am a great jam and pickle maker so nothing will go to waste.
