Another forum hatchling.

Hello everyone.

My name is Callum; I’m 24 and currently living in West Wales right on the Ceredigion Heritage Coast in a small village called New Quay, not to be confused with the New Quay in Cornwall. I'm originally from Manchester but I escaped that place a few years ago.

Living on the Ceredigion coast I see dolphins regularly, seals, Peregrines and Choughs in summer and one of my favourite birds, the Red Kite almost everyday! I guess I’m lucky to live where I do and I appreciate it greatly. Despite my user name I’ll be active mainly in the birds section, but I will explore the other sections too.

I’m also a keen sea fisherman, a “very” amateur photographer and mountain biker. I also enjoy walking but when I’m not out doing those things you’ll usually catch me in my local boozer.

This looks like a really nice place, thanks for having me.

Hi Callum and welcome to WAB. I know your part of the world really well and I do envy you (not so sure about the holiday season tho!). Wasn't so many years ago that the only place to see the Red Kite was at Traggron Bogs - how things have changed. Hope that you enjoy your time on this site.

Hiya Callum,
Welcome.
Beautiful part of the world you live in. I don't know it as
well as I should, I've passed through just the once when
I walked the coast of Wales. I keep meaning to return
one day. Enjoy your stay here.

Ian

Thanks for the welcome.

You're right, holiday season is a bit hectic here but the tourists are vital. Most the work here is seasonal so we have to make as much as we can in the holiday season if we're to survive winter. I went to Tregaron a while ago, plenty of Kites up there. I keep meaning to go to the Kite feeding center too. I'll get round to it soon and post a few pics.

Welcome.
I'll try! I already have some pics but my camera isn't very good i could do with a better one something better than my current 3.2mp 3x optical zoom. I really need to start getting into this SLR business.

Thanks to everyone else for the warm welcome.

Re: Another forum hatchling.

Hello there Reptilian
I'd like to welcome you to this wonderful site too!!
Now then, I know you may think you are lucky seeing dolphins, seals, peregrines etc on a regular basis, but spare a thought for me....today out of my window I spotted 2 pigeons from Manchester and 3 seagulls....I think they must have lost their way!!! ( I know ...hard to beat eh?)
Anyway, enjoy yourself and get posting your photos
