Hello from Todmorden

Hello. My name is Anne & I live in Todmorden, Lancashire. I am 42 & a factory Manager. I am married to Stuart & my hobbies are reading, listening to music, wildlife & nature, & camping. I am an amateur artist who would love to become professional, drawing takes up most of my free time. I found this site whilst looking for pictures of Rabbits. My main area of drawing is fungi, but I love all wildlife & nature & at the moment am in the middle of a Rabbit drawing from one of my husbands photos. I am constantly on the lookout for other photos to draw from, so if anyone has photos which they don't mind me using, please let me know. If you charge for the use of your photos, please let me know how much. I am very conscious of not falling foul of copyright laws & would never use photos without permission. If anyone would like to see my latest fungi pic, I will post it. Where is the best place to post drawings?
Look forward to hearing from you, & I will check the forums as often as I can.
Anne

Hi Anne and welcome,
I would love to see some of your drawings but being new here myself
I can't help with where you post them. With your interests I'm sure you'll
enjoy your stay here , it's very addictive so you've been warned. With all
your hobbies I'm not sure you'll be able to fit it all in.

Hello Anne and welcome to WAB.Sounds like a great hobby. I draw a lttle myself but don't have enough time to really get stuck in.I'm sure, if you ask, they'll be members who'd love you to draw and paint from their pictures. You're welcome to any of mine if you want.(no charge)

Hello and welcome, Anne. Hope you enjoy the site. I don't know if we have an area for drawings - if we don't I think it would be a good idea to create one.

Hello Anne, a warm welcome to WAB.
I would suggest that you post any drawings in the forum images category for now, We don't have a drawings catergory so unless anyone can tell you otherwise would think that would be the place for them. look forward to seeing any you post. Enjoy the site
Roger

Re: Hello from Todmorden

Thanks for the welcome everyone. I have now posted my latest pic in the forums image category(thanks Ollie), you can't miss it, it is of a Birch Polypore. I hope to keep up with all this, but don't know how much time I will have. Sundays' are quite good as I can keep popping back, hope to keep an eye on things from work as well, but only get 1/2 hour dinner so may prove difficult. Originally I said I was 42 but I must have mislaid a year somewhere as I have just realised I am 43. Doesn't time fly when you're enjoying yourself.

Re: Hello from Todmorden

Hi Anne,

You are more than welcome to use any of my fungi pictures on my web site
My Left Eye
and if you do I'd love to see the result.

I actually think that a lot of drawings of fungi are actually better than photos as they can emphase the important aspects.

if you are after a particular fungi or composition, why not just ask on the mushroom forum

Good luck and do post a drawing for us
Chris

Re: Hello from Todmorden

Just seem your 'drawing' - it is marvelous Anne, but looks more like a painting to me
Could you make anything of

?
Chris
PS you know you can add images to posting as well as the gallery, it took me a wee while to track yours down!

Re: Hello from Todmorden

Thanks for permission to use your pics Chris.
I have just had a look at your fungi photos, they are fab. Not sure if I can do anything with the one you posted but I may surprise you some time in the future with this or one of your others, just hope you are patient, I can only draw for approx. one hour per night so it takes me ages to finish drawings, & I have a few on the go at the moment. You say my drawing looks more like a painting. It is actually done with coloured pencils, I have never managed to master paint.
Anne

Hi Monkster
If you click on the Gallery tab at the top of the page, then keep going down until you find the forum images.

Re: Hello from Todmorden

Hi Anne, welcome to WAB it is a wonderful place. If you look under fourms and scroll down to Wild Activities you should find a thread entitled Arts and Crafts. That might be a good place to post some of your drawings.
