Might I suggest you add a link to WAB? it is a great site for anyone wanting help to ID plant and Wildlife, the wealth of knowledge and expertise available is amazing.
All the best for your projects.
Dave | Hi Dave,
We are having an "Action day" at the cemetery on Saturday 30th April 11am -2pm. The idea is for people to come along and help plant wildflowers and shrubs or just "hang out" and chat. David Longthorn, a member of "friends of the earth" always (almost always) does a little tour of the cemetery and identifies the various wildlife habitats and shares some of his knowledge along the way. He is the backbone of this project and I admire him very much.
The day should be easy going with kids having fun and regular "green" volunteers and a few cakes to boot.
We would certainly welcome any photos of our site that you would wish to share with us regardless of whether you can make it for our action day!
As for your suggestion of adding a link to WAB I think that is an excellent idea and I will do that!
Many many things going on at this moment in time and very snowed under so if I don't get around to it in the next few weeks please let me know!
I am really happy to have found WAB............. |

Dave | I am sorry you couldn't make it on Saturday Dave. I looked out for you.
The turn out wasn't great as I think we were in competition with the Royal Wedding the day before and another event hosted on Newland Avenue at the same time. However it was a beautiful day and all the jobs got done. We fixed together a bench and got it fixed to the ground. Planted many wildflowers, some plants for the the decorative border at the front of the cemetery and a tree.
Saw lots of butterflies! so off now to try and identify one of them on here
Ps I added this website as a link to ours. |
