| | | Hello from the peak district Hi all
I thought I'd pop in and say hi. I joined to obtain some advice on some young bunnies, but I've been browsing the site with interest, and am also a nature lover.
I live in a little cottage in the black peak with my 5 cats, 2 torts, 2 horses, 1 rabbit, 1 pig, 1 sheep and what's left of my chickens...
I live on SSSI land, and they're trying to attract lapwing and curlew to the area again - maybe not much chance of that with a mink on the loose. Critter massacred my 16 chickens a few weeks ago ( I have one cockeral left who came out relatively unscathed - just has a damaged leg)
We only moved here last October, and I'm intrigued with the changing seasons and vast wildlife up here - I'd like to know what we have!! I've just actually bought a book today, so I can try and identify everything.
I know we have deer (not sure what kind), aswell as bunny's frogs, moles, shrews, badgers, short eared owls.
I need to see what else is lurking out in my garden
Thanking you all - looking forward to chatting |

Hi from Derbyshire too! I drive over the Peak District on my way to Manchester. I'm sure you know by now the Peak District has it's own weather system, just like Buxton!
I'm sorry to hear about all your chickens, must of been very upsetting for you |
