Hi
Just to say hello to everyone, and thank you for the warm welcome.
Potted bio - I'm a mum of 5, 4 of them are still at home, and we share the house with 1 dog, 2 puppies and 5 cats. It's all a bit mad, but great fun.
We live on the west side of Lewis, near to the old blackhouse village, an area full of wild life, (I can watch the Lapwings chasing the gulls out of 'their' airspace from where I sit now) wild flowers, orchids and all sorts of wonderful things. I've spent a fair bit of time learning about the local stuff, not only as part of running a backpackers hostel but because I'm interested anyway. I'm happy to answer questions (if I know the answer!), give directions, help anyone who's visiting plan where to go, what to do, where to stay etc.
As well as running the hostel, I look after a holiday let and make jewellery. Life is busy but very very good; you couldn't pay me enough to move back to the mainland.
I've had a look round this afternoon, and the site is a wonderful resource. I'll try and contribute where I can   |
