If anyone has a specific request for a pic, let me know. I require special surgical equipment to part me from my camera*, and even take it with me to hang out the washing! If I can find it, I can photograph it. The only small bar to pics this year are Bran and Kelmo, our two puppies, who have not yet grasped the concept of 'stand still while I snap this' and tend to bounce uncontrollably, just because they're still pups. I'm hoping to teach them how to do things properly as we're walking the hills this summer

Judging by your location details, I would say you are warden of the hostel with the geothermal heating. A lovely place. I stayed there for a few nights 3 years ago and have good memories of my stay. That was before the heating was upgraded. We only had the old stove then.
You are one lucky Lady living up there, but I prefer the Uists and Benbecula. I envy you.
Looking forward to reading your posts.
Charlie.
P.S. Just found this

That's the place Chazz! Unfortunately, due to issues with the heating, we've had to be closed this winter Matters out of our control. And our lease is up next March, so there will be no more hostel in that village, which is a great shame. Ho hum, such is life.
Yes, I'm lucky. There isn't a day goes by I don't know how lucky I am. I grew up for the first ten years north of the border, then got moved south by the parents. Took me 25yrs to get home, and the ten years before we moved here were spent in a city, looking at the backside of a factory. The locals complain about the weather, and I just smile and say I don't care if it's blowin 90mph out there and raining/hailing sideways, because it's STILL better than being stuck in a city lookin at that damned factory! |

Do you know if Gatliff have any plans to replace the hostel? I have been on their website, and there is no mention of this anywhere that I can see.
Regards
Charlie.

I know they haven't announced it on the site as yet, only that we've been closed this winter. And I've not heard anything about replacing the hostel, sadly
There are another three hostels on the island, which aren't going anywhere. And it's entirely possible to 'wild camp' a fair bit up here too.
If I hear anything about a replacement, I'll give you a shout. |

I would like to get up to Na Gearrannan before it closes, but I honestly don't think I'll make it in time. Such is life.
