Evening all

Hi all,

I have just registered and have found that I need 25 posts to edit my profile, so here is post 1

I am a keen (that's short for learning the trade) birder, who lives in Gloucestershire, interested in where people go to see widlife and any good stories.

Here's to many interesting forum chats in the future

Re: Evening all

Welcome Col, enjoy all your many visits to WAB. Which side of Gloucestershire are you. Bibury is OK for birds, although best go in the winter very touristy in the summer. There is usually a kingfisher on hand plus many finches and tits. There are plenty of Wildlife trust reserves about as well. Chimney Meadows in West Oxon will open in May with two hides over looking the wetland meadows. So there should be plenty to see there.

Glad you asked I am interested in any good places to go in Glos. I currently end up in Frampton, on the edge of the Severn, Coombe Hill, around Stroud or especially so far this year Slimbridge

Where do you recommend??

Thanks for the welcome Billy (hope that isn't your real surname!!), I am in Stroud so Westish Glos, hence I end up going towards the Severn for my birding at the moment.

I will look for Chimney Meadows on the map though, once it is open, thanks for the tip
