| | | Some advice please for a newbie! Hello all.
I have been lucky enough to have recently undertaken paid bird surveying work and I therefore am looking to advance my career in the conservation field. I know conservation is a very competitive area but hopefully lady luck will deal and so far has dealt her cards favourably. I am a keen reader of all things related to natural history but of course I wish for further education. Has anyone out there undertaken any DISTANCE LEARNING/ONLINE courses and if so, which course/companies would you advise. In my later years I hope to get a degree to my name at some stage as this will make me more employable.
Any help or advice appreciated.
Cheers

Welcome to WAB. I noticed your question, but I can't help I'm afraid.
Maybe you will get a better response in this forum: Outdoor Activities - Wildlife and Environment Jobs at wildaboutbritain.co.uk
All the best,
Deb

I did my Natural Sciences degree with the OU and thought it was great. You don't have to do the entire degree as the are modular so you can choose just to do some of the modules such as the Ecology one.
They also do courses called Openings which are short courses and in a range of topics. I don't know what the latest ones are but it's worth checking out. Distance Learning Courses and Adult Education - The Open University
Good luck
