Hi folks, Wow what a fantastic site this is! I have been into walking in the Cheviot hills for about 30 years and have had a huge passion for birds and other wildlife as well as conservation and the environment in general for a very long time and have only discovered this forum. I'm also very much into photography but cannot affford a big lens for bird photography just yet. I didn't realise there was anything like this forum on the internet so it was a nice surprise!

Thank you all so much for the lovely welcome. What a friendly bunch, and good to see some fellow North Easterners on here 
Martin, I have only been doing photography for a couple of years and cannot afford a long lens for birds, so all my pics so far are underground shots from caving and the abandoned mines we explore in Weardale in County Durham, but hopefully this year I will get a decent lens. Off to trawl through the photography section now to pick up some hints |
