| | Wild Berry Picking in Newcastle Hi, does anyone know of any spots in or around Newcastle where I can find wild raspberries or blackcurrants growing? I know a great spot for blackberries but would like a bit of variation this year! Thanks, Helen. |

| | | Re: Wild Berry Picking in Newcastle Welcome to wab purplehelen44.The rising sun country park in benton is an exellent place for blackberries, hawthorn, sloe berries, rosehips and crab apples but your a little late now for raspberries, also check out jesmond dene, and the tyne riverside walk and any place that has been allowed to grow over such as disused railway lines.
check out the the bushcraft forum theres some good recipes on the "its that time year thread"
Good luck picking berries and remember to leave some for the birds
