Didn't notice your from Derby,
I was born there moved away 16yrs ago and lived in Alvaston.
Where are you from.

Hi, unlucky about the Derby connection- judging by your "location" it would seem that you have rectified the situation!
I am from Borrowash but have lived in Alvaston myself for a while now. I don't know what it was like when you were here but it ain't the best now.... Currently at Derby Uni studying zoology so hopefully won't be here for too much longer! Any tips on local wildlife spots would be very much appreciated, either on here or by pm! Nice to meet another Derbyite, Derbytonian, Derbywaller etc etc....

Well I can tell you where I used to go but not sure what they are like now..
Elvaston castle is on your doorstep the birds were very tame as they get fed so easy to get good shots, too many grey squirrels though.
Melbourne hall is a lovely place to go.
The river Derwent along raynsway is a good wildlife spot water voles are meant to be there and you can walk or cycle for miles and not see a car.

Clumber Park, Worksop is where there is a WAB meet if your into fungi that's really worth a go if you can make it.
Its Oct I think there is a thread somewhere running at the moment.
