| | Hey up! Thought I'd better introduce myself. I'm a Lincolnshireman though part raised in Berwick-upon Tweed, Northumberland (another beautiful county) and am now semi-retired and back in Lincoln, where I was born. I have always had a love of the countryside/seaside, it's flora and fauna and of course photography to endeavour to record my memories. Stumbling on this site by accident I was most impressed by the layout, the content and the friendly people so here I am. Having recently moved to digital SLR equipment from 35mm I'm struggling a bit - all those menues and more locks on the cameras and lens than Fort Knox but it is definately the way to go so I'll be picking you brains also I'm not sure how to reply to things on here or even if this is right what I'm doing now! No doubt all will be revealed.
Married with four children and 5 (nearly 6) grandchildren, we all share the same love of our countryside and have some lovely areas around here and of course in Northumberland and perhaps other members will tell me about their areas too. Anyway that's it for now - I'll press submit and see what happens |

I know what you mean about all the options on digital cameras - my attitude is to keep your defaults simple and ignore the rest!

Welcome to WAB.
I remember the daunting challenge of the DSLR. My tip? .... practice, practice, practice. You can read all the books in the world but you can not beat getting out there and taking some photos. I am sure it will not be too long before you are posting photos to our gallery.
