| | | New member says hello! Hello everyone! I've just found this site and, after a quick look, I just knew I had to become a member!
I'm Gill, 38, married to Neil and we live in Northumberland.
I've been obsessed with animals from an extremely young age and even as a young girl I would collect caterpillars in jars and watch them develop into moths & butterflies before releasing them. I always had an aquarium on the go and every Spring it would contain either tadpoles or sticklebacks. Sadly I haven't had one for a number of years now but am planning to set one up in 2007 *don't know if i've informed Neil of this fact yet LOL*
I'm a keen birder/naturalist and never happier than when I'm outdoors and am just as happy to wile away the hours observing a common bird as I am a rare one I've started sketching too and find that this has increased my observation and made me really look at things more - how things are put together, the colours and shades and the kinds of habitat they live in etc.
I couldn't bear the thought of living my life without Nature and can't understand folks who have no interest in it....what on earth do they DO with themselves all day? I try to spread the message to customers who come into the shop I work in and get them interested too - I've already converted Neil! None of my workmates are interested though - but thankfully I have the internet so can 'talk' to other wildlife enthusiasts and get my fix that way!
Look forward to being a member of this site and getting to know you all

You know how curious people get if you screen them off from what you are doing I find that works, I am now fed info by allsorts of people including people who are not interested themselves
I do add www.wildaboutbritain to any e-mails I send so the recipient can please themselves
