I'm based in Bakewell so have the lovely Peak District all around me! It's a great place to explore, especially on foot!

Keep a look out for Golden Plover up on the moors too. I've seen a fair few around this year.

Hi Tracey, thank you for your welcome.Yes it is certainly a wonderful area to be in. On my walk last night I spotted a family of Red Grouse, and then a pair of Linnets. They were inside the National Park. We are lucky to have such a fabulous area on our doorsteps.

Hi John and welcome. I'm relatively new to this site and caused a storm with my first post (Great Tits, I'm so upset)!! However, even negative posters to this have PM'd me with apologies and suggestions so I reckon the people here are, on the whole, a fantastic bunch!! It's great to tap into like-minded people's brains and I've found answers to a whole host of questions. I have recommended the site to loads of people and hope you have the same positive experience as I have had.

Thank you all. I'm not looking to raise a storm but I do hope that from time to time someone will make a response of some kind to some thing that I have written....I am glad to say that so far, on this site, they already have..and I have not been disappointed.
