| | New member hello Hi peeps, I found this site by accident yesterday, and felt it would be good to start getting some of my photos on the web. I surfed the galleries and was impressed by the high standard of photography. I've been taking photos for many years, as reference and backup for my profession as a natural history artist, but only in 2005 did I sell my old Olympus film camera and jump on board the digital bandwagon. And found it to be good. What I love is the total control it gives you, no more worrying about how the pics are going to come back from the developers! I've uploaded some butterfly pics today, and there'll be orchids and dragonflies to follow over the next few weeks, when I can find time. I must apologise for my crazy username, I hope to change it as soon as I'm allowed to. Read it backwards - it's one of my favourite birds, the herald of Spring. I hope this site becomes the best-known hub for all of us who are interested in British wildlife; there's so much out there, who needs to go abroad! http://www.jonathantyler.co.uk |

I've just accepted your images, a fine lot they were to! Thanks for sharing them.
Just one very small point, you had the names back to front, if you could do common name then scientific, you'd then be perfect! |

| | Re: New member hello Hi glsammy,
Thanks for your comments - yeah, I realised the names were the wrong way rounds after I'd uploaded! Just my scientific way of naming - Latin names are recognised worldwide. I have a question - I know it's unlikely, but can I please, please, please change my user name? I only put up such a crazy one because I didn't think it would appear to everyone, thought it was just a login issue. If you can, and if it's not too much trouble, could I change it to Jonno? I'd be deeply, and endlessly, grateful!
elagnithgiN is just too nonsensical...
If you can, and do, my thanks in advance! |

| | Re: New member hello Hi Graham, John, Alan, Deer Stalker, cherrybee, George -
Firstly, Graham, hope the boss is in a good mood, also hope it's do-able, and repeat my sincere thanks.
To all you other peeps mentioned above, thanks for your kind comments, most appreciated.
I realise two errors - that the Brown Argus was taken with the Micro-Nikkor 200mm. and NOT the Tamron 90 as stated - and that the images seem to have lost some of the saturation on uploading; will have to oversaturate them a little (for my critical eye on this calibrated monitor) to get them to look right for the web.
Getting a hide from Nebraska soon, so after Xmas there may be a few bird photos appearing; otherwise just a few dragons, orchids, and weather pics to upload.
Cheers,
Jonno. |

Jonno. | I've corrected the description for the Brown Argus. I'm afraid I can't do anything about the other problem! |

Thanks so much. I shall remember to up the saturation by 18 when i upload next. All the butterflies look kinda faded and wishy-washy... oh booo!
Never mind, such is the learning curve of this sweet tapestry that is life,
