Hello
I just came across this site whilst looking for information on visiting Skomer Island (which I am going to on the weekend *lots of clapping and whooping*)
I have owned a DSLR for 2 years and have been patiently waiting to visit Skomer all this time. It's been work commitments that have mainly stopped us.
But have visited plenty of other places in the meantime 
Just spent all my lunch time checking out this website and have now found loads of places & things that I need to photograph 
I will be checking this site out regularly for new places to visit on the weekends, especially now my kids are older and I have more free time.
I will be hopefully adding to the wealth of information on here as time goes by

Hi Caroline and welcome to WAB, I was on Skomer yesterday and had a wonderful time. The puffins are an absolute must to see, and I openly admit to spending the best part of the day just photographing them.
There are of course lots of other birds that are just as notable such as the Short-eared owl, little owl, Guillemot's, Razorbill to mention but a few.
I sincerely hope the weather is kind to you and you have a great day out.
