Hi from Sunny Hampshire (today!)

Hi, I have looked in here a few times regardiing puzzling examples of "species" I was hoping to identify in my Usborne books - but failed to!

I am early retired from my career; old (er last week) hit 56

STILL NO FREE BUS PASS yet ! BUT now childmind a few days a week.

I have always loved our grand countryside and all in it - from a baby being walked out over Wisley Common and around the Lake; St. Georges Hills; Riding horses or walking all over Horsell and Chobham Commons and fab times out at Newlands Corner - let alone West Wittering and the Isle of Wight !

Now, I have joined the Woodland Trust & the National Trust and WE (DH & I) love taking the children out to local Woodlands in Hampshire at Micheldever; Stoke Charity and The New Forest etc., and spotting things, we try to capture photos and identify all ... which is why I registered today to upload a few photos in the hope of achieving THE IDENTITY

Deerstalker we do too ! in the New Forest ! I spent 3 years riding the New Forest and learned where the Herds are, and the South Downs Way; Fosse Way and Swans Way ... but so much fantastic Countryside and Wildlife !

Hi!

I would recommend a good wildlife book to identify creatures that you see; I have the Collins Complete british wildlife book (with pictures) and find it invaluable. I bore ppl in my house silly, saying, "Ooooh, look at this, I saw one of these today!"

Hi Wac, I too have millions of books on various subjects (Hampshire about 280 books on the history of) but if I bore ppl I am pleased to let them go and not darken my steps again

BUT Now I am old and WEAR PURPLE I listen to ppl and show enthusiasm and if they cannot reciprocate, I do the PURPLE thing !
