Welcome to WAB. I'm a new member too and am already addicted. Are you interested in all things wild or have you got a particular passion? |

| | | Re: Hello from diapasonbill Gosh its almost the weekend again. Sorry folks, I have not been ignoring your messages its just that other things have kept me busy.
Thanks for your welcome Little Firewall, yes all my posts are made about the same time but on different days as only one lunchbreak per day.
Peduk & Odonata - Thank you both for your welcome and I'll take this oprtunity to welcome you both also. My Interests are pretty general but with too little time to follow them. Weekends for most of the year are taken up trying to keep a large garden under control, this does give rise to quite a number of wildlife sightings and also the wild flowers that just appear thanks to the birds and other animals transporting them around area.
Its Autumn Leaves time of year, I have collected over 75 Gallons (volume) of fallen leaves from the grass already this year and am busy sieving last years to free up the composting containers for the rest of this years leaves, so have some close contact with worms and a few interesting clusters of a grey brown maggot with bristles - no idea what they are but I transfered them complete with leafmold into this years leaves. Who knows, if they survive I may have a garden full of flies next year.
Some wildlife seen in the garden includes Grey Heron (almost emptied the pond within a week a couple of years ago). Pheasant, Munkjak deer (I think its them that always bite off the first frond of my tree fern each spring since I have found the droppings around it) also bats (so I built a bat detector kit), frogs, toads.
I've run out of lunch break!!
Have a good weekend every one.
All the best from Bill. |
