Hi Everyone from a very damp Brisbane!
Widespread rain is forecast for the rest of the week but we are happy after a couple of very dry years.
You may wonder why an Aussie wants to join this group. My wife and I am are enthusiastic naturalists and we spent a month in the UK in September last year (Jersey, Sark, Argyll, Skye, Hastings, York and Lincoln). This was partly for family history research but we also took every opportunity to look at natural history. We had some great sights - Bittern at St Ouens Pond, Jersey, White-tailed Eagle on Skye (but no Goldies) and a great range of seabirds at Machrihanish.
I took many photographs of plants, insects etc. Many have been identified with the excellent books that you have in the UK but I still have quite a number that have me stumped or uncertain and I'll be posting them over the next few weeks.
