| | A proper Hello, this time Hi to all
I made my 'debut' yesterday but thought I'd better introduce myself properly this time.
I'm female and on the better side of 50 . I live on the very edge of the City of Swansea, South Wales which makes me kind of semi-surbuban and semi-rural.
I'm obsessive about photography, especially taking images of the natural world.
I haven't had much time in the past to catalogue or find out names of birds and flowers etc This because until a few months ago I was busy volunteering on the website of a charity for those affected by a medical condition. One of the many roles I had was moderator of a busy discussion forum - and so I promise to behave here
I look forward very much to any knowledge I can pick up from users of this forum and hopefully one day , pass on what I've learned.

| | | Re: A proper Hello, this time Welcome Eiona. I'm sure you will find this site of great benefit. I joined just over a year ago and found everyone so helpful. I too, have taken up photography and find it totally absorbing "finding" new insects etc. Sometimes they even find me!

| | Re: A proper Hello, this time Thanks all for the welcome and imagine finding a Jack here, though I'm more of a Monkey myself
@ treecreeper- yes, we do 'steep' (it keeps us fit) but we do the wonderful flat coastal path and foreshore - and even with my inferior zoom (compared with my hubby's) I can get quarter- decent shots of oystercatchers and turnstones, cormorants ..........and lots of herring gulls (and I really mean LOTS)
I'm not to bad with my bird knowledge and but look forward to re-learning a lot of what I've forgotten about plants and insects
