| | | New member Hello
I'm so excited at the amount of birds visiting my garden. At my last property I only had one bird visit my garden in fourteen years.
Now i have birds waiting for me in the morning for food. Todays visitors included Black caps, Goldfinches, coal tits, a red wing and a beautiful Jay |

I am a newbie to bird watching and find it fascinating. I could watch them all day.
Today a black bird was gathering soggy leaves and put them in a pile. Any idea why he would do this? |

| | | Re: New member Hi Sue and welcome to WAB . You were very unfortunate in your bird watching in Portsmouth - one bird in fourteen years suggests a superefficient cat population. I'm glad your new location is proving so much more attractive. |

| | | Re: New member Hi Sue glad you found WAB and welcome! I look forward to reading more of your posts and maybe the blackbird is collecting a pile as worms will come up for the moisture and the leaves and the blackbird will take advantange of this, keep observing as you may find it to be something completely different? |

The black bird was making a pile from the leaves he had already looked under. Everytime he looked under a leaf he took it to the pile. It was fascinating to watch |
