New and also need help please

Hello,
I recently moved into a house I am renting, the garden was entirely normal, My wife has two rabbits so I layed some concreate slabs to stop them digging out. Following morning something had dug a small hole underneath one of the slabs. Now I have fenced the garden the creature has dug around fences and under seats ect. The creature is nocturnal and leaves holes about 1 1/2 inches wide. I've thought about a rat or weasel but stumped as to what it is. Any ideas

Hello Gazak firstly welcome to the site ,as to your problem the only thing I can think of you have mentioned except mice where do you live ,ie in the countryside or town?

I definately live in a rural area and having expirianced mice before it is without doubt bigger. It seams to have a trail through the garden as it has burrowed under fences.

Hello and Welcome. Maybe the previous tenants didn't use the garden and the creature (IMO Rat or Rats) had established routes in your garden, which you have crossed, also you are putting Rabbit food out in the hutch, so they are not likely to just go away, but will gnaw their way into your rabbits' hutch for the food and will probably have the rabbits as well, you MUST do something about it ASAP. There could be a network of tunnels under the garden, or the shed if you have one, and they breed very fast so the sooner you look into the problem the better. Your local council will have a dept. for pest control if you are OK about going that route. Our local council do it free.(Winchester),....Rats will also go indoors, maybe in the loft, so don't let them get a hold. There was another similar thread with lots of ideas, I'll find it and post info. on here for you.....All the aforesaid is of course if it is RATS.

Hi Gazak, and welcome.

This definitely sounds like a rat to me.......

You will need to run wire mesh under the run if you wish to stop this creature from invading your property.
