Hi everyone have joined this great forum recently. I tryed to upload a photo to get an id but it came up saying its to big, how do i make it smaller. Please keep in mind i am not great with these computer things so please talk in plane english.

Hello Kev and welcome to the site ,in regards to your problem if you resize you pic for your avtar to about 320x250 and no larger than 120 kbs then you should be OK hope this helps you out

Regarding your pic, take a look on here for guidelines, may help you. Frequently Asked Questions | Wild About Britain
What is your camera image set to, try setting to 1024x768 or 640x480.
You can reduce the image on your photo software, say on the printer setting "view saved images" and select edit. Then reduce image and re-try, trouble is, the pic looks slightly different. |

Welcome to WAB Kev This may get a bit technical.I've got Microsoft XP,so hopefully the following instructions may be useful to you.To reduce the file size of a picture I first open it with Microsoft picture manager.Click on the edit pictures option.Then where it says change picture size,click on compress pictures,and select the compress for documents option(this is the largest that I can generally get away with).This will get the size of your piccies down.Thats how I do it ,if I know myself I'm bound to be doing it the hard way ,but it works for me.Somebody else may hopefully tell you and me an easier way of doing it.And if you haven't got XP ,it will be different I guess.Goodluck.Jason |
