| | | Re: Hello all and help many thanks for all the replies, its horrible looking out at the back now, if i could post a pic i would
with the new houses going up behind ours and now that the trees have gone, they will be able to see into our bedrooms.
also in the mornings now the birds and squirrels have gone, no lovely robins, blackbirds, magpies and other assorted birds that i dont even know the name of.
if anything, its made me more aware of how lovely the trees were and how much we miss the wildlife..
i have complained to the council, the TPO office, the builders and my MP
we will have to wait and see what happens
many thanks |

i wish you the very best of luck
i feel very lucky indeed with the wildlife i have visit my garden
the neighbour who cut down all their trees where i live, were a bit silly as they have no privacy, plus it must cut down all their wildlife visitors.
plus they done it when birds were nesting, i was very angry at the time ! |

All the best | JOHN...What a cynical thing to say. You do not know these men or their reasons.
How dare you make that sweeping statement. How dare you say that what I have said is not true. What right do you have to say that about people you do not know.Perhaps you would like to rephrase your post AND apologise to me for infering that my words were untrue. ........POSIE..

Sorry, there was nothing cynical about it. I was merely pointing out (obviously too briefly) that their principles are subsidary to the fact that they would almost certainly be breaking the law.
Section 1 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act of 1981 prohibits the intentional disturbance of nesting birds and although there is the potential for a "sorry guv, didn't know they were there" defence there are many other guidlines reinforcing the Act and so that does not wash nowadays.
Any professional (who may have not done it anyway because of his principles) would be aware of the law. Law takes precedence over principles (and applies to amateurs as much as professionals).
Sorry for my brevity.
