| Re: Saying 'Hello' ...... and it's hello from me too. Firstly, I'm an honoured Trustee of the Wild About Britain charity (and I'm StuartDH's mum). His enthusiasm for both British wildlife and this charity is infectious and consequently I have had my eyes opened greatly since I became involved. I grew up in the Cotswolds and have 'followed the flag' during my married life, Royal Air Force, until my husband and I both retired just over 6 years ago. We moved up to North Yorkshire shortly afterwards and love it - people (welcoming and friendly) and places (so much to see and do, we are never bored).
I am a volunteer on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, one day per week (free train travel being 'the' perk) and consequently travel the line every now and then, investigating the highways and byways en route.
Going back to Wild About Britain, I try to have as much input to the website as time allows, and have gained so much personally from the research, input and involvement with the charity. My computing skills have improved enormously, I'm having a 'go' at some verse, and am also undertaking a project to raise some funds, so that we can eventually grow and diversify a little. I share Stu's reasons for initiating the site and say a big thankyou to all who have 'come on board', so far, to help. Welcome!! |
