| | | Greetings from Co. Durham Hello everyone, I stumbled across the Forum whilst idly wondering if the wonderful Mike Tomkies was still alive - thanks for such an informative and active thread. This is clearly a very active place with lots of interesting topics for discussion - hopefully I can make some small contribution! I live right on the edge of a small town, overlooking a lovely park and beyond that, countryside. |

| | | Re: Greetings from Co. Durham Thank you everyone! I've been busy with notes here and there about the Forum. A bit about myself, I'm an adult education tutor, mum and grandmum, originally from Wales (Cardiff) but have lived in England for 24 years now and eight years in Germany before that. Most places that I've lived I've been lucky enough to have countryside on the doorstep - or some fascinating urban wildlife.
The horse in my avatar pic isn't mine - I wish he was! He's Hiccups, trained by Michael Dods near Darlington. Friends of mine have and have had other horses with Michael. One of them was a very nervy creature so I got my pic taken with Hiccups because I liked the name - he is also a really, really sweet natured horse. |

| | | Re: Greetings from Co. Durham Tongue firmly in cheek there, I hope! Co. Durham is currently being marketed as a haven of peace and tranquility by the local tourist board - one way of saying 'nothing ever happens here'. However our bid for Durham City to become a City of Culture is firmly underway - if it's good enough for Liverpool and Glasgow... | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Hybrid Mode |
