Yes, never ever resize a photo and then press save , or you will have lost your original photo for ever. Always use "Save As" to create your resized photo as a copy of the original.

Regards,
Mike. | Oh dear I have been treating my wife's photos exactly the way you say I should not i.e. I open them in Photoshop then I crop when necessary to 9" x 6" and the click Save as High size.
When trying to upload to WAB I copy the photo, open the copy in Photoshop and then Save for WAB and tinker to comply with WAB requirments and then save for uploading to Gallery or Library and then delete the original copy from which the WAB required images was resized.
Space taken by the original photographs ie straight off the memory card has been my concern but as a safety measure I backup all the saved photos to an external drive. Not the originals. I have saved almost 7,000 9" x 6" images in the Photoshop Organiser and that takes one hell of a time to keep in order.
We do not believe that any of the images are likely to ever be used other than for the purposes for which we now use them and the images can be and are used for birthday cards and calendars.
Thank you for your comments however. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
