| | | Good afternoon Found this site a few weeks ago and liked what I saw so signed up. I didn't bother to post at the time but now find myself checking out the forums almost daily so thought it was time to say hello!
It's a brilliant site, full of information and some stunning photography - I might post a couple of my poor efforts so please don't laugh !!!
I live in Lincolnshire and am just a casual observer of all things living but particularly birds. Currently trying to create a garden that will be wildlife friendly and picking up some ideas from this forum. Thank you. |

| | | Re: Good afternoon Hi Batwing and welcome, from another new member.
I'm English, but live in Hungary.
You probably know this already, but the number one "attraction" in a wildlife garden is a pond. Water attracts wildlife like no other "facility", and depending on your location, you could find dragonflies, newts, frogs, and even Grass Snakes.
An excellent book on the subject is "How to make a Wildlife Garden" by Chris Baines.
Good luck with your venture,
Colin. |

Thanks for the advice Mantra Man. Unfortunatly the garden isn't really big enough for a pond as such but will definitely have a water feature. Luckily though, as the surrounding countryside is full of waterways together with ditches (dykes or drains -call them what you will!) we already see a fair number of dragonflies and frogs in our currently 'dry' garden. |

| | | Re: Good afternoon Hey Batwing, a warm welcome to you. Don't be embarrised to post your photos, we'd love to see them. Remember, sometimes the best photos are not always the technically brilliant shots but the ones that capture a special or unexpected moment. Besides we're all still learning here |
