Hello All

Hello everyone here at Britain Wildlife. I'm from the US but I've been kinda monitoring the wildlife in different parts of the UK. I have a weird style of introductions and they are long so here I go:

Wildlife - I've always taken an interest in wildlife and animals. I've had dogs from since I was born to about five years ago where I couldn't have one anymore due to moving to the city after my parents divorce. I've only had a general interest in wildlife and never gave much thought to it until about a year ago when I watched Narnia and took an interest in foxes (kind of an eye opener). And then I noticed more foxes cross my path in magazines, games, other movies, shows, etc. which got me really interested. The final push was when I found Words site and then I was hooked on foxes

Foxes - Since I like foxes so much, I've done lots of research on them so I know quite a bit about them thanks to a vareity of different sites. I like foxes and the horrible things that are done to them make me want to cry. I've made a forum about foxes as well which most members say that they've learned a lot about foxes while they were there and have a new found respect for them. So it's good and benefitial.

Wolves - Wolves are my second favorite animal, after foxes. I like to learn about wolves which I'm currently in the middle of researching so I don't know as much about them as I do foxes. Wolves are just so cool and I'd like to learn more about them. I'd like to sponsor a wolf or Fox but I don't have any money right now. I live in Idaho, so I am usually updated on the news of the wolves here by the paper, if anyone knows the issue about wolves in Idaho.

Username - I've used this same username for about eight months now; based off a character that is in a book that I am writing. Just letting you know that I am not confused on the name of arctic foxes. I might explain a bit about my book elsewhere, depends.

About me - I'm sixteen so I'm rather young and don't have money nor a job. But I'm trying to get a job at a local pizza shop so I can get a little extra cash. I still go to school and live in a sub-urban neighborhood. No foxes around though . I've lived in just about every type of home there could be from farm to apartment so I've gone through quite a few expereinces.

Pets - I have no dogs, though I want one but am waiting til I move out, but I do have one cat that's my sister's actually. I really don't care much for cats but I still love my cat, just much rather have a dog and cats are flat out mean to foxes most of the time.

My forum - As I said, I made a forum about foxes, but also about wolves and dogs (canidae family). It's about six months old now with just over 10,000 post and nearly 80 members so I'm happy with it and would like to see more members there though it's tough to get members. Anyway, it has lots of wonderful discussions about foxes and wolves and dogs and other stuff and some not so wonderful debates over wolf and Fox hunting or taming. It's a lovely forum and you should give it a stop by: Canidae Central :: Index

Forums - I know a lot about forums such as phpBB codes, and HTML codes. So if anyone ever has a question about that, they can ask me. I'm a member at well over 200 forums which I moderate a handful and adminstrate a few so I am kinda busy often. But every forum is different and I'm still trying to see everything here at this one.

My internet - I hate my internet connection cause it is so crappy and will often lose connection for no reason. But it's the only thing I got to work with so it'll have to do. Just letting you know just in case if I'm talking to somone through IM, I might appear offline suddenly 'cause of the failure. I will usually get back on right away but sometimes it will go out for hours to days at a time. Which this thing is doing right now

Umm. . . I think that's all the basics; I could go into further detail about various things but I won't do that this time. So I hope that you all can find something to chat with me about with all this information As for now, I'll see ya later.

Re: Hello All

Hello The White Fox from the USA. Welcome to Wild About Britain. There's many a Fox fan on the boards. We have some great pictures of them (foxes) in the gallery.I hope you enjoy the friendly banter and discussions on the forum. We all love our British wildlife and I suspect before long you'll be as hooked as we all are. Enjoy. WW

Re: Hello All

A harty welcome, Whitefox, to the Wonderful World of WAB. As Nightshade said, I like wolves, check out UK Wolf Conservation Trust - Working to keep wolves in the wild

It's great to have someone from the other side of the pond here. Must check out your site now that I'm back.

Re: Hello All

Hi WhiteFox, nice to meet you and welcome.

I guess I'm first and foremost a Cat Woman myself (probably coz I get to live with 5) but like you I have a great affinity with Foxes and Wolves too and am active in seeing both species protected.

Do you know we have a sister website called Wild About the World? It's like this one only as the name suggests covers worldwide interests so you might like it. It's not as fast moving as WAB yet but once it really gets going it should be good. Check it out.

Sheryl

Well, I thought that you'd all like a different kind of introduction rather than the usual what everyone does
