| | | Greetings (from Kent) Hi there!
I'm Tom. I joined because Jules (Wild-Woman) threatened me.
I came to the Thursley Common meet with my dad, who some of you may know as Dave P, or 'pressld2' (as he is known in these forums), or indeed 'Horizontal Dave' which I understand is starting to catch on. This is on account of his methods for photographing things on the ground; flat on his front, legs across the path and passersby frantically dialling 999.
Like my dad, I'm pretty keen on photography. To help with this I hope to begin expanding my knowledge about the overwhelming variety of wildlife in Britain, and this looks like a great place for it.

I reckon I'm safe from Jules for the time being.
That's a good spot, Linda, I hadn't seen noticed that before. However, an inukshuk is a large stone structure in the shape of a man, made by the Inuit and other people in the Arctic region of North America. I'm not 100% sure on their use. It may be spiritual, but I think I read somewhere that they were used as landmarks to mark places like hunting grounds or to give directions. There's a mini one in my avatar which I made on the Isle of White. I doubt it's still standing though, since the tide was rapidly coming in.
It was nice to meet you too.

p.s. I was hoping that it might have been photography that was the reason for Dave being horizontal, and not for any other reason!
