| | Just saying hello Hello All,
I'd just like to pass on my compliments to everyone involved in the site. I've visited a few times and thought it was about time I joined.
I'm a keen amateur photographer with a particular interest in wildlife. I live on the banks of Loch Long in the West of Scotland. It's a great location for lots of different subjects
The quality of the images in the Gallery is awe inspiring and I'm hoping to learn as much as I can from the experts
I hope to play an active part in the forum and look forward to participating where I can.
Thanks all and keep up the good work.

Yes the location is wonderful. I never know what's going to go passed the window next. Out the front it has varies between Nuclear submarines and Porpoises. We've even had a Humpback Whale and more recently an Otter on more than one occasion.
Out the back we get common-all-garden birds (Siskins, various Tits, Robin and Chaffynch) but my particular favourites are the Red Squirrels that visit every day. Some near neighbours are getting Pine Marten but I've yet to be lucky enough.
I'm hoping to get some shots on the site in the next few days and would appreciate any feedback or tips.
Cheers,
Andy |

I moved here 12 years ago and the villagers in a neighbouring village always referred to the main road as 'Midge Lane'. I always thought that it was because of the fact that the environment is perfect for the little blighters(polite version). Recently I took a look on a street map of the area (very uncomplicated as there is really only one main road) and saw that the road really is called Midge Lane
Things must be really bad when roads are named after them |

I have just returned from a short break from Loch Lomond not too far from you.
It was a stunning place you are so lucky to live somewhere like that. |
