| | | An even more belated Hello Hello to all.
Do I really need to introduce myself? Having been a member since mid June I think most other members know of me. Anyway here goes!
I am retired and a widow, but being female and still of the opinion that a ‘lady’ never reveals her age, I’ll keep that a secret. My Wildlife interests are extremely varied never having specialised in any one thing. So I think of myself like a magpie, gathering unconsidered trifles, but including the odd gem. Someone who has lots of bits of information but no in depth knowledge of any one thing.
Due to a health problem I find that where I can go for wildlife restricted. Fortunately I drive and find that much of what I see is from the car. As I now have no garden I feed the birds in a little local wood, which was planted about 10 years ago.
With age has come the realisation that nature is wonderful in all her guises. I am sure when the time comes that I can no longer get ‘out and about’, being a member of this site will continue to give me much pleasure. And who knows, a chance for me to have a say occasionally.
Regards
Winnie (Wildone) |

Although I have always had outdoor pursuits, football, fishing etc, it was only in 1995 that I started birdwatching. Like you, now that I am older, I can really take in the beauty of our wildlife and their surroundings.
I wouldn't say that it is an older age thing but it definitely helps.
I'm sorry to see that your health restricts where you can go but if you can still enjoy what you can do then that's all that counts. |

One of the great things about wildlife is that it can be enjoyed on so many levels. Wildone |

| | | Re: An even more belated Hello And your proactive stance has also worked it's magic on this site as well. For anyone who doesn't yet know, Wildone is a crucial member of Wild About Britain's team of volunteers, doing an incredible job of sorting out a very large chunk of the gallery.
You've certainly made my life a lot easier
Thanks

| | | Re: An even more belated Hello Thank you Stuart,
Being able to help has made me feel useful, and at the same time helped me make friends on WAB. Also keeping my brain occupied with wildlife related problems helps me forget my own.
Ciao
