| | | Hi on the wildside Hello...found this forum while searching for a photo of clitocybe rivulosa(which was posted on here by JanB, so you can blame her!)
Anyway I thought it would be a good idea to ask for advice on here regarding me starting self employement.
I am at the moment thinking of becoming self employed, as a leaflet distributor, but concentrating on ethical , green and charitable organisations and companies,(eg no meat industry, sex industry, alcohol, gambling etc) I have recently become unemployed, but have some experience in leaflet distribution...I have started a scheme run in conjunction with the job centre , so could offer these organisations free distribution via a placement, the idea behind this is that I will be able to gain there trust and be like an introductory offer, I will do this type of thing like freelance at first , but later hope to design and print the flyers also....the question is where are the best places to advertise on the net, or would it be better to email each organisation or both? "
The seemingly contardictory nature of use of paper leaflets for this will need to be added to them (eg recycled, please recycle) IMO it would be best to compost unneeded leaflets(presuming the inks and paper are safe) or re-use as scrap paper
Any constructive advice would be greatly appreciated , thanks. |

| | | Re: Hi on the wildside Welcome to WAB Posterpat . Clitocybe rivulosa is hard to distinguish from C. dealbata, but if you're at the stage of searching for photos of it you probably know that. You will definitely know not to eat either!
See if your local council (or similar) is doing anything to encourage self employment. On Wirral there is something called Wirralbiz which runs free sessions telling you how to get started and explaining taxation and so on. They are really good. They also give a £500 grant to new startups if you can put a convincing business plan together. |

| | | Re: Hi on the wildside Cheers, I will try looking into grants , I have actually eaten fairy ring champignons many times and only ever found a suspicious looking one among them once, I think its the young clitocybes you need to watch out for in mistaking them for these, even pros can get poisoned, theres a tale of poisoning at an annual convention where "Chicken of the woods " was eaten, but it had been growing on Yew trees. |

I was thinking calenders may be better for advertisers, as people are much morelikely to keep them, I have some artwork of my own, but how would I go about selling adverts on the calendars | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
