Welcome timbo, fourteen acres of woods sounds like heaven, Will you be placing bird and insect boxes etc around and do you have any snakes, it would be really nice to be able to construct a tree hide or two and spend time in peace just listening to the wild life, i am now very envious the thought of binoculars and camera and just myself spending hours stuck up a tree with no one to fall out with, perhaps a flask and a nibble to eat, i am going to say bye as i am starting to dream like i used to when i was young, good luck with the wood, aland. |

We've already put up a number of bird boxes...w have water voles in a stream/drain at one end a big study was done on them a few years back, badgers, lots of foxes, deer...not sure about snakes. We will build a hide up on slits - like a treehoouse - just not up an actual tree... |

Duncan | Deciduous. It was coppiced until about 30-40 years ago by the look of the stools. A lot of it is Oak, Hazel, Maple, Birch. |
