Hi Anna. Sorry, I'm from the Isle of Wight, and not Essex, but 'Hi' all the same.

Hi wetnwild, I too would like to say hell and welcome, but from Hampshire.
It's a strange greeting but we mean no harm.
Enjoy WAB and I'm sure you'll make loads of friends soon.

| | | Re: Anyone Else Here From Essex? I read about that, Hobjob, but it sounded more like a meet-up of pre-existing friends than an Essex thing - like all you guys already knew each other and were planning a whole weekend together. |

| | | Re: Anyone Else Here From Essex? Hi I'm from Essex and know exactly what you mean. I'm 44 and me and my hubby have found that a lot of the wildlife walks etc we have tried have been mainly retired people - nothing wrong with that but it would be nice to mix with like minded people our own age. We mainly enjoy bird watching but are still quite novices as we only startes a year or so ago. I love anything to do with animals of any kind big or small flying or creeping.
Maybe you could start a Essex group that met for wildlife walks ( and coffee and cake at the nearest cafe) We could all learn along together and have some laughs along the way. |

| | | Re: Anyone Else Here From Essex? Hi WW , hello from Chelmsford , must agree other counties seem better organised..
the Rainham trip sounds good - ashamed to say never been there before I tend to go to places like Maldon and up to Colchester , Fingringhoe as you prob know is worth a visit , have seen young people there as well as the more experienced thermos carrying variety.

Although I do enjoy the events that my wildlife trust already runs, it's just that it gives a different dimension when there are people there of your own generation to talk to. Also, some events (like my local group's wildlife working parties) are actually scheduled for weekday mornings, so excluding most non-retired people.
Malcolm, I'm ashamed to admit I've never been to Rainham either. Don't know why really - as you say, it sounds good. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
