Hello,
I'm not really into bugs, but I thought that I would share this video with you. This is the strangest looking fly that I have ever seen.
*massive
*front end "fly"
*abdomen totally alien to my eyes
*looks like it could sting, though I understand that the sting might be utilised to lay eggs...
Take a look, and please let me know. YouTube - Is this a fly?

Hi Sonny, welcome to WAB! Hmmm... a horse fly, family Tabanidae due to size or perhaps a snipe fly, family Rhagionidae, in reference to the delta-positioned wings and long legs.
Do you have any stills, and I take it this was in the UK? |
