| | | Hello Everyone Hi, I'm new to this. I found this site while I was trying to find out what birds like thistle seeds as I bought some last year but they remained untouched. Whilst researching this i found that most birds prefer specific seeds and not a general mix. I witnessed this with a blue tit scattering the seeds all over the ground until he got one that he liked. After watching this I have bought Finch seeds and now have feeders with mixed seed, finch seed, peanuts and thistle seeds as well as fat balls. Since this change I now have a pair of gold finches coming to my garden on a regular basis. I have had a visit from a green finch. I also have regular visits from bullfinches, robins, and many others including our resident blackbirds. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Threaded Mode |
