Smile Hello from the Isle of Wight

Hi there from the Garden Isle,
Otherwise known as the isle of wight. I happily stumbled across this sight whilst waiting for a phone call, and i think its great. We are very lucky here on the island with many well maintained footpaths and AONB sites. I enjoy watching and photographing all wildlife and since purchasing a good telephoto lens have really enjoyed some great bird watching.
I look forward to learning more from members about all of Britains wildlife.
Islandergirl.

Welcome to WAB - be warned, it is very addictive and enjoyable.
Stunning photography on the site and someone will always know the answer to a question.
Enjoy and learn .... and possibly teach?

Hello and welcome Islandergirl, this is a great and friendly site for wildlife lovers, I'm sure you'll enjoy your membership.

Last time I was on the IOW I was an ankle-biter and we visited Black Gang Chine, is it still there??

Happy memories of the Isle of Wight walking over Boniface Down to Ventnor seeing lots of Chalkhill Blues. A beautiful place.

Hi Everyone,
Thank you so much for your warm wellcome and yes Blackgang Chine is just about still there although most of it has fallen into the sea. They are talking about moving it to another location.

Re: Hello from the Isle of Wight

Isle of Wight? I remember a wonderful holiday there many years ago - for once the sun reigned supreme and we had a gorgeous week down there .... I remember going to Alum Bay and seeing the famous Needles - the sky was blue, the sun was beating down on the white rocks .... happy times!!

Sorry, I digress, islandergirl .... welcome to WAB and I'm sure you'll enjoy your stay here as much as the rest of us! Well, we must do, otherwise why do we keep coming back?
