| | | Hello - twitter woo's new too! Have some really unusual birds in my garden and looking forward to having someone to ask about them. Have spent the last 8 years balancing my small town garden into a wildlife haven and this year it seems to have all come together. Can't sit out at the moment as it's so noisy (like an aviary). Is anyone else experiencing this profusion of birds? Common and not so? |

Can't wait to hear all about your birds, and maybe pick up some pointers.

| | Re: Hello - twitter woo's new too! Last year I started seeing regularly the goldfinches, greenfinches, tits, sparrows, robins etc and then later in the summer a pair of great woodpeckers set up residence in the garden. Pleased enough with this I was happy to see them all back this spring. However, this week I now have some new ones. I have a pair of bull finches, Citril Finches, Serins (who look like the bird version of zebras!) Siskins, Bramlings and what I think is a Melodious Warbler and a Hawfinch! When I see them I just freeze so I can't get any photos (yet). I was hoping that my garden was a reflection of what's happening around the country and the birds are making a recovery. I've sooooooo many nests that I daren't do any gardening or pruning incase I disturb any. I've a huge nest in the holly tree that seems to have about 10 baby green finches in it! I'm sure that I can't be the only one experiencing this - or I must be doing something right and I'll share the tactics!! |
