| | | Hello, New Website Hi everyone,
Its been a while since i have posted , mainly because i have been on holiday photographing Badgers and doing loads of Moth trapping. I will post a few pictures when i have had chance to go through them.
In the mean time my website is now live and if anyone would be interested in taking a look i would be grateful for any comments, good or bad.
The site is still under development but i hope still has a few pics of interest.
All the best. Jon. |

I like your site and you have some beautiful photos but they are spoilt by the watermark in my opinion. The images are not large enough to be used for printing. I understand they are precious to you, but surely you took them to share with others and not to deface?
Thats just my opinion

| | | Re: Hello, New Website I've had a look and it's a great site, with some superb images, well done Jon.
I have to agree with Boddie though, I think copyright marking for images that size shown on this and other sites is just spoiling the image.
No one could possibly nick your images for commercial gain, the quality is just not good enough. Don't misunderstand what I said, I mean the size and resolution as shown isn't high enough to print or use commercially.
Having said that, your doing a great job with the site and the images look OK, but would be so much better without the markings! |

I appreciate the honest comments, i am still in learning mode.
I think i was perhaps bieng too cautious and i think i will take your advice and get rid of the watermark.
Maybe you would pop back in a few days time and let me know if you think its got any better.
Cheers Jon. |

| | | Re: Hello, New Website Yes it's a first class site Jon, it's coming along nicely. A good layout and some great pics there which act as a good foundation to build on. I agree with the previous comments about watermarking, a smaller copyright sign in one of the corners wouldn't detract from the images as much.
Nice to see the WAB link as well
Nice one

| | | Re: Hello, New Website I agree with Boddie and GLsammy , fantastic pics but a little spolied by the water marking, which is unnecessary anyway as the image size and resolution is too small for any serious theft.
okay someone could nick em for web use , but in fact an experienced photoshop user could probably take the watermark out in fairly short order. ( I did this on an image on a different thread back in june which had supposedly been indellibly watermarked by an "expert", and it took me about 20 mins to delete the watermark entirely using the clone stamp tool and healing brush)
so bearing in mind that watermarks only stop the extremly casual or inexperienced theif you may as well stick them in the corner in the same way that Oy and Pxl8 do on theirs

Welcome back on board.
Sorry to say must agree with the rest the watermark takes you eye off the pictures which I must say you have some very good ones.
Like the lay out of your site, something I must try and do, just need to read some more on how to go about it
Mick

| | | Re: Hello, New Website Thanks for all your comments, they have all been taken on board and i think i have done the right thing by removing all the watermarks.
Hope you will all take another look soon and see what you think.
I will be adding more pics this weekend, and am hoping to get a interactive element to the site in the future.
Very nice comments from you all, it seems very encouraging at the moment so thanks for taking the time to to take a look.
But don`t be shy keep on looking and keep letting me know what you think,
cheers

However i have yet to attempt to build a website and i am cerainly not as knowledgable as others with regards that and photography but it is a very nice site and many congrats for that.
