| | | Hullo from Anguis Hullo everyone,
found a link to the site on Downsizer.net and having had an explore over the last week or so I thought I'd dip a first toe in the water and say hello as you all seem such a nice bunch. I gather it's the done thing to post a bit about what brought us here, otherwise I wouldn't do this but just peek about shyly to begin with (in fact I think this is my first ever "introductory" post on t'Internetwebhighwaythingy!).
Me and my partner live in south-eastern suburbia, grow fruit and veg and keep chickens and are interested in foraging for wild foods too (is that a bad thing round here?!), but combine that with a keen but utterly uneducated interest in native wildlife and flora. We are lucky enough to share our garden with slowworms (hence the user name, I thought fragilis would make me sound a bit brittle ), common toads, newts, and frogs who seem to appreciate the ponds we installed, not to mention lots of interesting invertebrates which I hope to learn more about here..including a recent new visitor which I am 99% certain is rosemary leaf beetle chrysolina americana grrrrr. We recently treated ourselves to a new camera to record all this wonderful stuff with, so I've found the Gallery very inspiring already, and am looking forward to learning lots with your help. |

Richard | Hi Anguis, good to have you on board - I'm down with eating wild stuff so long as it isnt rare - i used to live on limpet stirfry when i was skint, but the real expert on eating strange things is jonny - he is heavily into bushcraf and if he cant eat it he probably wears it instead

| | | Re: Hullo from Anguis Evening all, I'm Anguis's OH. I thought I'd join in as well as you all seem to be a friendly bunch. I might need a few days to look around before joining in, if you don't hear from me for a while then give me a nudge. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Hybrid Mode |
