A quick intro.

Hi all.

Just joined your forum, & a very nice forum it is! My name is John residing in South Australia. My hobbies include photography; but mainly astrophotography at this stage. I have some photos of planets that I have captured recently using a Celestron 9.25 SCT telescope & the latest Philips 900nc webcam.

Once I work out how to add photos I'll be dropping a few into the astrophotography Gallery.

Thanks for the welcome Julie & Barbara It's just on dusk here, so I'm madly setting the telescope up once again in search of that one great Jupiter photograph he-he!

I'm glad to be here & looking forward to having a look around & posting madly as time allows.

Thanks again.

Hello & thank you John D & Richard! Am I the only aussie here? If I am, I better keep a civil tongue in my head...no spam, no aussie obscenities!....

And hi to nightshade! Yeah, dust those astronomy guys off for me! Not sure if I'm the most distant member or not, sorry. Do you guys have like a members map, showing locations?

A warm welcome John, it will be nice to see more photos appearing in the astronomy Gallery. Enjoy the site. By the way I spent a month in Australia three years ago, great place with very friendly folk.

A very Warm Welcome from me Aussie. Keep those superb pictures coming! The more the merrier.
It's good to see some taken by users rather than the commercial ones I put up.

Well Beryl is a very clever lady and knows an awful lot about a lot of subjects but I do know she loves the planets and has her own telescope. So I am sure she will. She is also very knowledgeable about the planets I think

Re: A quick intro.

G'day Nicole and thanks for the welcome mate! You have our lingo down pat...I was a bit hesitant on using the word 'mate' in here for fear of offending in some way he-hee

I'm really enjoying WAB, so many glorious pictures to look at...WOW!

Yeah, I recommend coming down for a look at Australia at least once in your life time. I have been to the US & several other places but not the UK yet. I will one day though!

In my little corner of Devon the word mate is used an awful lot especially in my family and all thier friends. So in my case the word doesnt offend I am sure no one would be offended anyway especially on this site as its the friendliest site there is.So G'day mate
