| | | Hello! Hello everyboy,
I have just joined the WAB forum as I was pleased with the friendly and supportive forum posts that I have read. I am a relative newbie to this photography stuff and need somewhere that I can get constructive feedback from members who have practical experience, such as yourselves!
I bought my D200 last November and seem to have spent every minute since then taking photos of my dogs in various locations around Norfolk. This weekend I made the leap to photographing birds at a falconry centre. Is it normal for there to be quite so many photographers there??? Half of the arena seems to be people waving lenses in the air. I had expected a warm welcome but unfortunately I was greeted only by sarcastic comments about my inferior kit. Surely everyone out there isn't using £5k+ lenses! As I say, I need a bit of gentle coaxing to develop my skills at the minute, hence me registering here. I shall try to post some of my images from the weekend... if I can figure out how to do it.
Thanks for the advice I have already got from here and thanks in advance for the support I know you will give.

I know you'll find useful help and guidance here on both wildlife watching and photographing - look forward to seeing your photos.
Don't overly worry about the less-than-helpful reaction while out on location, sadly there can be an element of camera 'snobbery' at times - I've had this myself, I use an elderly Canon 300D + Tamron 28-300mm lens, and increasingly 'only' use my Fuji S9500 bridge camera and Canon Powershots(s) A560 and G7 |
