| | Greetings! Hello from Steve and his kids Matthew and Alyssa!
My boy Matthew (9 on Tuesday!) is very interested in wildlife. I have an average general knowledge of British wildlife, but he knows for more than me already! So I've joined this forum, so next time he asks me the difference between a Bluebottle and a Green bottle I might be able to come up with an answer for him . He's really got an aptitude for it, so I'd rather not let my ignorance get in his way!
Thanks in advance for all your help!
Regards,
Steve Radcliffe |

its great to see more kids interested in wildlife (i'm 14)
if he is interested in insects you may be interested in joining the AES (amateur emntemologists society).
it gives you loads of great opportunities as well as just getting the magazine- last year i went to a gathering at the natural history museum in London, and i got to go behind the scenes with the curators and see there huge collection of insects.
also, if your into photograph you can email them your insect photos and get them published in the mag
have a look at their site
its well worth it

| | | Re: Greetings! Hello Steve, Matthew and Alyssa, and welcome to the WAB forum!
I think you'll find us quite a happy and helpful bunch, always ready to share our knowledge with you.
I thought I had an average knowledge of wildlife when I joined too, but I soon found out that the longer I spent on here, the less I actually knew (in the nicest possible way ), so sit back and enjoy the experience!
It's great to see your kids involved too - I love to see youngsters who have a great respect for, and a love of wildlife. It's a gift to be cherished in this day and age.
Welcome once again!

And it's great to see you all getting involved. Enjoying wildlife is definitely a hobby that can bridge age gaps.
Well done all.
